How Ayana Bio does this

We develop plant cells that we then grow in stainless steel tanks, yielding identical (or even higher potency) beneficial bioactives.

STEP ONE

GROW

We source and grow authenticated plants in our lab to sample tissue.

STEP TWO

SAMPLE

We sample many parts (flower, root, leaf, etc.) from the authenticated plants to identify the ideal cell lines to produce the bioactives of interest.

STEP THREE

GENERATE

We feed the explant with a proprietary blend of micronutrients optimized for each plant species to form callus. We then adapt the callus to liquid and conduct a preliminary media screen of the solid and liquid to observe growth and metabolites produced.

STEP FOUR

SELECT

We use state-of-the-art technologies (e.g., high throughput multi-omics) to identify the best cell line to produce certain bioactives and lock-in the cell line for optimization.  

STEP FIVE

OPTIMIZE

Once a cell line has matured through product screening we begin process development.  We grow and maintain each specific cell line in a controlled bioreactor environment to optimize cell growth and bioactive production.

STEP SIX

CULTIVATE

Once the bioprocess has been developed, we scale up optimized cell lines for commercial production. We then harvest the cells for bioactives and can extract or isolate them per customer specifications.
